History - Born in New Salem, Heather was only nine years old when her parents decided that it was time for them to move away from their childhood home. Taking their son and daughter with them, Diana Armstrong hoped to bridge the gap with outsiders by bringing her daughter up in a world where she would not be known as a witch. A world outside of New Salem, a town not far but far enough for her child to have a peaceful childhood – or so she hoped.

Nick Armstrong was of course against his wife’s idea but he was slightly calmer then he had been when he was younger. Knowing that growing up with outsiders would maybe give his young daughter a view on life that he had never known, he agreed with his wife but only on one condition. She would learn how to protect herself. The world that their daughter would live in with them and after they had passed away, was beginning to fill with violence where it was soon not going to be safe for a young girl to be alone. Despite Diana’s calm outlook on life, she accepted Nick’s points and watched as her little girl grew up in a world of outsiders and not of witches.

Where as in New Salem she would have never been looked down on, Heather rarely had a friend throughout her life unlike her brother who made friends extremely easily. As she grew older, reaching her teens and starting high school, one boy became her friend. Joseph. While some speculated that they were more than friend, the two teenagers were never seen apart. They grew close friends and she let herself hope that life would never return to its previous state. But then her dream world began to fall apart as soon as it had taken shape. Joseph’s sister was killed by what seemed to be a witch. Fingers were pointed, as they usually were when witchcraft was involved. Despite the girl’s murderer being an outsider interested in witchcraft but not a real witch, Joseph knew that Heather was not as ordinary as she appeared to be. He began to give her the brush off and eventually telling her how much he detested her kind for what they had done to his sister.

No matter how hard she tried, Heather could not get her old friend to understand that she had not been involved. Becoming withdrawn, her parents decided after trying hard to help her that it was time to return to where they belonged. Returning to New Salem, Diana and Nick Armstrong hope that once she is reunited with the other witches that Heather Armstrong will once again find happiness in a world that has been so cruel to her.

Appearance - Tall and willowy, her dark mahogany hair cascades past her shoulders like a river. Eyes the color of the gemstone emerald, a closer look shows that they are more of a work of art then they are credited for. Around her pupil a small ring of hazel can been seen before bleeding into a moss green and eventually in to jade. Looking secretive, her eyes seem to hold the key to her soul and offer a glimpse into her world. The world she keeps safely locked away.

Catching a glimpse of her face, it has been said that her features look as it they were carved out of ice long ago. Others say she is an image of her father, Nick Armstrong. Those who have had the pleasure and luck to view the ice maiden after she has thawed out and stepped away from her protective icy layer cannot lie. She is a likeness of her mother in every way, and her movements are filled with a gentle grace. But despite the happiness that she has been known to feel, her face often shows a look of personal security especially when a member of the opposite sex notices her beauty.

Personality -Feeling that there is always something missing in her life, Heather is like both of her parents at once. Sometimes calm like her mother, this is especially true when she is placed around people she does not know and she can be quieter than she really is. But her temper is well known. Like her father she has been known to be moody for no reason. Unable to control her temper despite her mother’s attempts at trying to help her keep calm, fear and anxiety have been known to cause her to become withdrawn. While her father was known for his icy reaction to near enough everyone, her mother’s good heart means that she is slightly warmer than Nick was at her age. Finding it hard to make friends easily, she silently dreads starting school in New Salem and meeting the children that unlike her, grew up there together. She silently envies her brother, Harold who always seems to fit in perfectly where ever they go.

Until Heather is sure that she can trust someone she seems to be a bitch and as cold as a pillar of stone. It seems sometimes that the only person other than herself that she trusts is her brother, looking to him for protection sometimes despite never admitting it. She hates any attention on her whatsoever, especially if she cannot see who it is from. Attention from the opposite sex is common but that does not mean she has become used to how people treat her. Looking in the mirror she sees nothing special and often brushes off boys that try to be nice to her. Independent, this is another trait from her father and a contrast against Diana’s friendly and dependant nature.

Talents - The daughter of two powerful witches, like her parents her she was born with power in her emerald eyes. Talented in the use of calling upon the elements, her skills are more solid when calling her element, Water. With the help of her mother Diana, Heather’s knowledge of spells is vast. Spending her spare time studying her mother’s Book Of Shadows, she is determined to learn all she can so that she may some day be a witch that is prepared for anything life has to throw at her, like her mother. Intelligent, she does not dwell on the parts of life she knows that she may not succeed on and knows well that unlike her mother she could never lead a coven.

Doubting herself, she prefers to do all she can and use her own brain rather than always rely on her magic. Seeming weak to some, they do not realize that being a witch means her gifts only lie in her magic. However, her father made sure that from a young age Heather would be able to defend herself if there ever came a time when he was not there to do so. Enjoying what her father taught her, the young witch enrolled in a Tae Kwondo class despite her mother’s protests. Failing to complete the full time needed for her to reach the highest level, her teaching was interrupted by her new found love of singing. But she has so far never found the courage to show her gift in front of others or to join a choir. Those who have had the pleasure of hearing her voice have tried to persuade her to show her talents. However, the young girl has never been happy enough or found a place where she belongs to do so yet.
