Background
Eiko is the only child and was primarily raised by her father, Ono. She is a Shaman, like her parents before her, a descendant of Sharilyn. She never knew her mother, as C'ele died during childbirth. As she grew up, her father told her many stories about her mother. The stories were so impressive to Eiko that she silently vowed to be just like her mom. As a child, she frolicked and played with the other children of her clan. Of course, as a Shaman, she was pulled indoors for lessons hours before the other kids even had to go inside. She resented this fact when she was young, but slowly started to understand it more as she aged.
As the clan moved from place to place, Eiko was careful to pay attention to every detail. She learned what types of animals and plants were in the region. She and her father would go out and explore for hours. As they hiked, Ono would tell her the importance of these journeys. As part of her training, Ono would have his daughter cast spells of protection against certain animals. One of the other clansmen would then capture one of those creatures and release it towards the village. To Ono and the others approval, the animal always turned away, leaving them alone. As she grew into her teen years, her spells grew more powerful and her range of protection wider. Her father also told her the value of knowing how to protect yourself without the use of magic. Ono had his daughter trained by a few of the clan's most skilled warriors. She was taught a form of hand to hand combat that resembles a dance (capoeira) and the art of using a bo staff. She grew to like the weapon form more and mastered it. Now the staff never leaves her side. Some of the other clansmen believe that the weapon helps her channel her magic.
Now, at the age of 18, Eiko is one of the head Shaman of the clan. She takes great pride in protecting her people and will go out of her way to make sure that everyone is safe. Her curiosity about the other races of Azzaria is growing. She knows about the marriage between two of the races and wonders why her people have not been contacted.
Physical Appearance
Eiko is what most of her people would consider beautiful. She is tall and lithe, standing at 5' 8" and weighs about 125 pounds. She has a muscular frame, taking care of herself to make sure she is always fit. She is lighter skinned than others of her tribe and people. Her eyes are a greenish brown and easily catch the attention of anyone that looks at her. Her hair is long and flowing, falling to about mid back. It is loose most of the time, with fully braided strands in places. On these braids are beads and rings, woven into the braid. She has some tattoos that adorn her body. They are thin tribal lines, resembling roots of a tree. They flow on her back, down her legs and feet and her arms and hands. Both ears are pierced four times. The lobe wholes have quarter sized rings that are made out of ivory. The other three holes on the cartilage of her ear hold small gemstones. She also speaks with an accent. (Think of Callisto from PotC: At World's End).
Eiko wears loose fitting clothes and a cloak. She stands out from others in her tribe, showing that she is a Shaman. She believes that the cloak is like a shield and holds it very dear to her because it was her mother's cloak. It is a lightweight garment, enough to keep her warm on cool nights or days. She also carries around with her a 6 foot staff, made out of a fallen oak tree on the Ebona lands. She uses this staff as a walking stick and it is never more than an arms reach away.
Personality
Eiko is friendly and caring. She is very protective over her people almost to a fault. If she feels threatened by anyone or anything, she is often quick to place a protective spell up or even prepare and offensive one. She is weary of strangers because of the stories she has been told over her lifetime. She is also extremely curious and uses her scouting time to seek out other subjects, be they animal, plant or anything else. She wonders about the Imperials, Elves and Celts. She wonders what she would do if she crossed one of them.
Talents
Eiko has 5 primary circles that she uses: Circle/Charm of Evasion - Allows those to be protected from any kind of physical attack. Circle/Charm of Elements - Anyone protected by this circle are safe from an element (fire, air, earth, water). This includes magic and the nature. Circle/Charm of Euphoria - Those effected by this circle will begin to heal from minor wounds (cuts, scratches, bruises). Circle/Charm of Affliction - People under this protection are safe from illnesses. But the illness must be stated, the circle does not protect from all illnesses at once. Circle/Charm of Warding - Those under the influence of this spell are more likely to leave the person/persons alone, like they complete vanished from all senses.
These five circles/charms are her forte, so to speak. She has others which she can cast, but they are weaker. Out of these five, Euphoria and Affliction are her weakest. She has put her efforts into learning spells that will protect her and her clansmen from protection in battle. Her offensive power comes in the form of illusions and glamors. Eiko is able to cast spells on others, befuddling their minds and bodies. She can trick people into seeing things that aren't really there, such as creating illusions of powerful beasts or making herself appear more than once. She can also confuse a person into doing something that she suggests, like attacking their friends or running head on into a rock to knock themselves out. She is also able to fool people into thinking they are injured or sick when they are perfectly healthy.
If people are under her influence (illusions or glamors), they show a physical sign. A glowing crescent moon will appear on their foreheads. The color of the glow is green in color. The mark will disappear when; her will is carried out, she is out of range or it is dispelled. If people are under her protection, a similar moon is present on their foreheads, but the glow is cyan. If Eiko herself is under the protection of her own spells, her eyes will glow a dull cyan color and her tattoos will glow as well.
Eiko is also a skilled fighter, in both hand to hand combat and weapons. She prefers to use her staff in battle. She is trained in a form of hand to hand combat known as "The Whirl of Ruination" in their native language. When she is in combat, it almost appears that she is dancing. Her body is in constant motion, even when she is waiting for combat to engage. The form includes many flips, handsprings, spinning and jumping about. Keeping her body in constant motion keeps the opponent guessing when she is going to attack and then does so when they are least expecting.
Weaknesses
The people of the Inoue are a weakness. She is so protective of them, especially the children, that she would risk her own life to keep them safe. When it comes to their protection, she is almost war-like, willing to fight anyone and anything that threatens their well being.
For the most part, Eiko is a loner and prefers it that way. She is very much a part of the clan and speaks with her clansmen when needed. One can often find Eiko sitting at the highest point of their current location constantly scanning the horizon to monitor the weather, what is approaching and other signs that nature gives her. This stems from childhood, during her training as a shaman. Her father would often send her off on her own for multiple reasons. Most other shaman normally break this solitude and spend time amongst the others of the the clan. Eiko has not and likes it that way.
Eiko also has weaknesses when it comes to her spells. She often puts too much faith in their abilities. While her circles and charms are not easily ignored or dispellable, her offensive magic is. Her Illusions and Glamors are strong, but can be removed easily. Also her offensive skills are terrific on those of feeble mind. But those with a strong will can resist and/or break her spells. Though she has never met a mage yet, someone like this can resist/break her illusions easier than perhaps a solider or peasant.
Opinion of the Peace Treaties
Eiko is not opposed to a peace treaty, but wonders why it has not been offered to her people. She, like others of her race, are distrustful of the other races and wonders what exactly everyone will gain if such an accord is made.
