About this site
This archive was created to house any pictures I have found that I think could make a good picture for an RPG character. It was becoming too hard to keep them all bookmarked, so I decided to create an archive which I and others could browse. As the archive grew a mission statement became clear; to archive as many different pictures of celebrities, models, athletes and musicians as possible.
You also won't find many famous actors such as Tom Cruise and Angelia Jolie here, instead the aim of this archive is to showcase as many unknown celebrities as possible. Occasionally I will add well known celebrities if I find particularly interesting pictures, and some of the celebrities listed you may recognise, while other people won't be as familar with them.
All archived pictures are listed by hair colour and skin colour. This is not a means of segregation and is not a comment on race, it is just an easy way of browsing the pictures. Each picture has also been tagged with keywords which you can search here. These keywords include physical attributes and personality characteristics, and in some cases species i.e. pictures I personally would consider using for a vampire are tagged 'vampire'.
Terms of use
When using this site please keep to the following terms of use:
• Please do not direct-link/hot-link any of these images. You need to save them to your computer and then upload them to your own website space or a hosting site such as Photobucket.com.
• All images are listed with the model/celebrity's name and the link of the site where I found the image. As good nettiquette, I would appreciate it if you give credit to the original site where the picture was found if you use an image from this site.
• When you credit these images please link to the credit link, not to this page.
I have not included images from scan sites, modeling agencies or fan sites due to distribution rules. Please see the links below for the scan sites I use regularly.
Tips for finding a Character Picture
I usually find it's best to start with a character picture before I write the rest of the profile. This way I can tailor the character to the picture, especially any details about his/her physical appearance. The first step is identifying what hair and skin colour the character has. Then I usually look for pictures that fit with his/her personality. Different pictures convey different personalities; quiet, sexy, submissive, defiant, warm, fun loving, handsome, shy etc.
It is important to remember that a character picture doesn't need to match exactly. For example, height; you cannot tell what height a person is by a picture, even if the picture shows a figure standing up. Tatoos, piercings and any other markings do not have to be shown in the picture because they can be hidden under clothing.
