Appearance: "There was a tall man in the tent. He was wearing a long light-coloured trent coat, even though it was warm outside."

Personality: Cold and calculating, Hunter does not care who get's in his way, whether it be humans, Night Worlders or even his own family. He despises the soulmate principle, and is disgusted at the amount of Redferns that are falling prey to it. Hunter will stop at nothing to get the four Wild Powers and in Black Dawn we see that this means that he does not mind even killing the grandson he has just found. His main aim is to win and even the witches leaving the Night World does not make him hesitate. He is strong, ruthless and determined. Background information: Hunter is a direct Redfern heir. His age is unknown but we know that he was born before the 1400's when his only son Tormentil ran away from his father after an arguement. Hunter never heard of him again, later finding that he had set up a new enclave, the Dark Kingdom, where humans were enslaved and the Night World was supreme. There he continued a pure Redfern Bloodline, having a son and then a grand-son - all of which Hunter was completely unaware of. It was only in the 1990's that Hunter found out about the Dark Kingdom and his great-grandson, Delos Redfern, who was one of the Wild Powers. Hunter did his best to bring Delos over to the Night World, but Delos found his soulmate; a human called Maggie Neely. Hunter was left with no choice but to kill him, but instead he was overthrown and killed by Delos' blue lightning. While he was alive Hunter rose to power in the Night World, and it was him that eventually stopped the wars between the vampires and the witches. This was done by a kinship ceremony between Him and a witch; Maeve Harman. From their union they created peace and four daughters were born. Garnet, Lily and Dove grew up as Redferns, while Roseclear grew up as a Harman, a witch with her mother. In the 1600's his daughter Dove was killed by a Priest, who was also John Quinn's father. Quinn was changed by Hunter, becoming his male heir, for Hunter did not know where his son was and many did not even know he existed. The death of Dove meant that Hunter created enclaves throughout the world where the Night People could be safe. Hunter also appeared in Rashel Jordan's life and it was him that turned her into the legendary vampire slayer, The Cat. He changed her childhood friend Timmy and killed her mother, but Rashel escaped. She later found him on an enclave where his daughter Lily, and Quinn were collecting girls for a blood feast. This was Hunter's idea to unite the made vampires with the lamia vampires. However it was stopped by Rashel and Quinn, and Hunter and Lily escaped the fire that took place. |
