Background

Natasha’s parents were both witches, and had four children. All four were raised in a loving environment, with care and guidance offered freely. Natasha and James both came into their powers at the same time. Natasha inherited her healer abilities from their father; James his fire abilities from their mother. Natasha came into her powers when her menstrual cycle started at twelve years old, when she healed a scratch on their pet cat without conscious thought.

When Natasha was sixteen, hunters discovered what they were, and attacked the house while Natasha was out shopping with James. Upon returning, they found the bodies of their parents and older sister; but of their younger sister, Serenity, there was no sign.

In contrast with James – who immediately started training his powers so as to be the best he could – Natasha became quiet and withdrawn, wondering if she could have stopped it from happening. As her brother became more distant, Natasha found out that he was using dark magic with the intention of gaining more power. When James went after her, Natasha fled and stayed in a safe house with other witches, before choosing to go onto university and study Criminology. After talking with the other witches, she made the decision to go to Reading.

Physical Appearance

Natasha is almost boyish in appearance. She wears her black hair cut very short, and is small with a thin body that’s rather lacking in curves. Her brown eyes are a little too large for her face, and she’s very pale, particularly since she doesn’t go out in the sun very much. There’s a scar on her shoulder, where James caught her with a knife, but that’s normally hidden by her clothes. She prefers clothes that are darker in colour, and not too revealing; mostly quite baggy. She wears an earring in her left ear, but there’s a scar in her right, where an earring should have been.

Personality

Natasha is extremely quiet and withdrawn, preferring to keep to herself rather than interact with anyone. She doesn’t even really talk to other members of the Coven unless she has to. She wasn’t always like that, though, and anyone willing to try and gain her trust would find a loyal friend. However, she’s very much like a dog who’s been beaten too many times – not a fear biter, but someone who doesn’t trust easily if at all.

Natasha is also an extreme pacifist, with set morals. She cannot stand violence of any kind, and believes that people who do wrong should be caught and punished. It’s because of these ethics that she chose to do a Criminology course, in the hopes that she’d be able to help others who have also lost people they care about. She sticks to rules closely, and stays where she thinks is the safest place.

Talents & Weaknesses

Though she’s quite a strong healer, Natasha can’t stand the sight of blood, which makes it very difficult for her to use her powers properly. It makes her physically sick – though she has no problems with healing broken bones. She keeps her mind extremely well-disciplined, so that she can use her power even in the worst situations. However, when she’s focused on healing, it leaves her mind open to attack. Since her parents couldn’t complete her training – and her past makes her reluctant to trust people enough for training – she doesn’t know how to shield her mind whilst using her power.

Because she’s so quiet, people just talk and talk – and Natasha doesn’t repeat things to others. She’s a good listener, though she mostly just wants to be left alone. Natasha has the capacity to learn defensive spells, but since she’s unwilling to harm others – not even in self-defence – there’s a kind of barrier that stops her learning them.

Though not physically strong, Natasha relies on her speed more than anything else, which is how she got away from James. It also seems that she has a high pain threshold, since she did that even with a knife in her shoulder. She enjoys painting, but is very critical of her own work, and will often tear up pictures after she’s finished them.

Natasha has a strong dislike of all sports apart from running, which she prefers to do alone. Even so, she doesn’t put on weight, since she doesn’t eat very much and burns off energy quite quickly. She’s extremely antisocial, and doesn’t relate to people very well.
