Background
The third child of Sara and James Adams, Leanne grew up with her two elder brothers watching out for her and thus driving her nuts most of the time. Simon was the eldest of the Adams children, born 5 years before Leanne, and Luke was born 2 years later. By the time Leanne had reached puberty both her brothers had already had their Primary Powers develop, both inheriting the same power as their mother. Everyone expected Leanne to inherit the same power, so it was a suprise to everyone when she inherited her father's power. The first indication that she was a Clairvoyant was when she was 13. In the middle of a school day Leanne's mind was filled with flashes of images that initially made no sense. Her friends helped her get to the school nurse, who suggested that she might be suffering from a migraine and Leanne was sent home. It didn't take long for her family to guess that this might have something to do with her primary power, and her father tried to help Leanne recall what she saw. The images had been only brief glimpses of the future, leaving her with a hazy recollection of a car, a bus stop and a pupil of one of the local schools. The next day they found out that a girl had been knocked over by a joy rider while crossing a road to reach a bus stop.
After that the images can more often, first in visions and eventually in dreams. By the time Leanne had finished her GCSEs her power had developed into more understandable visions and she was beginning to find it easier to control her power. It was just as much a gift as well as a curse, and Leanne went through a phase of trying to undo what she had see. Her visions covered various topics, sometimes little things such as a car breaking down, or a lesson being canceled. Occasionally though Leanne would get terrible visions of people dying, and after a particular violet one she began to try to save the people she saw. It was a rocky time in her life, alienating her from her friends and causing her studies to suffer. Her brother Luke came home from his first year of University and found out what she was doing, and that their parents were not trying to stop her. Sara, and especially James, knew that it was something that Leanne needed to do to come to terms with her primary power, but Luke was angry with them and argued several times with their father. Eventually Leanne learnt the hard lesson that she couldn't save people, and since she has been trying to understand why she had this power and what she can do with it.
Despite the troubles she had, Leanne managed to pull her studies back on track and got a good set of grades for her AS exams. During the summer between year 12 and year 13 she visited various Universities, including her brother's University, Reading. After talking to one of her brother's friends about the Zoology course he was studying, Leanne decided to apply for that degree. She had always been interested in animals and biology, and had been quite sad when her parents had explained to her that she would never be able to talk to animals like "Aunt" Clara (a member of her parents Coven) could. She had initially had her sights set on a biology course, but Zoology seemed like a better choice for her. She applied to Reading University, and was accepted, as long as she got the correct A-Level grades. August finally came around and Leanne got the grades needed for Reading. Leanne had turned 18 while taking her exams and so she had wisely decided to wait until University to find her first Coven. She applied to a few Covens in Reading that had a place open for a Clairvoyant, including her brother Luke's Coven. It was his Coven that made her feel more at home, and they were happy to have her as well.
She has been in Reading for a few weeks now, moving into Hawthorn House and being shown around the town and University. Her relationship with her brother has become a little strained due to a recent announcement made by their elder brother Simon. He had fallen in love with a female vampire, and has just announced that they would be getting married. It was a shock to the family and was recieved with anger and sadness because vampires and witches could not produce children. The supernatural species have always interacted intimately with one another, but usually they marry within their own species. The announcement left Luke with a great deal of anger towards his brother and he has begun to blame all vampires for what has happened. Their parents were shocked and saddened, but eventually came to terms with their son's decision. It was only Leanne that accepted the decision, although even she was suprised at first. Luke is not happy with her position in the matter, although to the rest of the Coven he just appears to be glad to have her there.
Physical Appearance
Leanne was always a pretty child with curly dark blonde hair. As she grew older the hair turned to a pale brown, and lost some of it's curl. It is still long, and now falls in loose waves down her back. Her hair can get quite unruly and looks messy unless styled, so Leanne often keeps it in a braid or ponytail to keep it out of her way. Shorter strands still manage to escape though, sometimes creating a good look and other times just looking like a complete mess. That is Leanne's opinion anyway, while others just see her as a pretty young woman. Large slate blue eyes look out from a long face with a slender nose and plump pink lips. She can sometimes appear a bit naive but this is soon dispelled by a flirty smile or a look. There is a wealth of knowledge in her eyes, a wisdom produced by her Primary Power that does not fit with the rest of her appearance.
Leanne is not a particularly athletic person despite her slender form. She seems to be one of those people who never puts on weight no matter what she eats. Her slender form is emphasised by her height, and slightly lanky limbs, although she is not without some curves. She loves flowery patterns, lace and flowing garmets. She always wears pale colours and is rarely found wearing darker shades even during winter.
Personality
Over the last couple of years Leanne's personality has changed and grown as she has come to terms with her power. The nature of her power, clairvoyancy, has left her personality scarred. She has always been such a fun loving person, greeting everyone with warmth and equality. However, there is now a harder edge to her, a side of her personality that is no longer naive and trusting. She has learnt that life can be hard, and sometimes she finds it very difficult to see the bright side of things. Other times she is quite the opposite, cold, disinterested and irritable. After recieving a particularly troublesome vision she likes to be alone, and she has been known to lose her temper if people do not let her find solitude.
The protective nature of her family, especially her brothers, has always gotten on her nerves. In the past she has been interogated by her family about her friendships and relationships, so it has become normal for her to keep these things private. She hates to be caught talking to someone new because it makes her feel like she has to explain herself.
Talents & Weaknesses
Leanne's primary power is Clairvoyancy, and this power shows itself through visions and dreams. Visions are the more common of the two, and vary in quality and subject. Sometimes she will only see flashes of images, while other times she will see a whole scene. With further concentration and the aid of spells, meditation and divination Leanne is able to find out more when she recieves a blurry vision. She if often hesitant to do so though, preferring to use divinatory methods instead. By using tarot cards, crystals, pendulums and runes, Leanne does not force herself to see anything else.
When her primary power became too much for her to bare, Leanne's parents would spend time teaching their daughter other parts of her heritage. The result is a young witch with a variety of knowledge of different spells, protective circles, crystals, and oils. Crystals and oils are Leanne's favorite magical items to use, and she has a large collection of both. Although she is not a healer, it is not unusual to see Leanne handing out a piece of tumbled crystal or a vial of aromatherapy oils to any species. She is a very firm believer positive and healing energies they give off, and is always carrying or wearing them.
Knowledge has always been a passion of Leanne's, and she has always done well at school. She worked hard to obtain the GCSEs and then A-Levels needed to study a Zoology degree. Her interests lie in science and geography, and she can easily rattle off details about various animals. Since she was a child she has always had an interest in animals, and while she cannot speak to them, Leanne does seem to be a natural with them. She finds it easy to care for them, and seems to always know the right thing to do. She currently has two Bearded Dragons and a kitten, all of which had to stay at home with her parents. Leanne has also been horse riding since she was 13, and has competed in several shows.
Leanne's biggest weakness is in fact her primary power. Although she will admit it does have it's uses, it causes her more grief than joy. Her reluctance to try to force a vision means that she cannot control when they happen, and their timing has caused her problems before. When she recieves a vision she can see nothing else until it passes, and this has caused social misery, as well as sometimes placing her in physical danger.
Her visions cause her a great deal of frustration and pain since she has been unable to find a way to stop the events she sees from happening. Inside Leanne is struggling to understand her power, keeping her thoughts and emotions regarding her visions bottled up inside. Sooner or later something is going to happen, and she will either break down or snap. Already her visions are causing her moods to change, and this can sometimes leave her alone and vunerable when she needs support the most. Sometimes Leanne cannot distinguish between reality and her visions, comparing people and their actions to something that has happened in a vision. More than once this has cost her a potential friend.
