Background
Born into a long line of hunters, Bit is the youngest of two children. Naturally from San Francisco, Bit considers herself a citizen of the world in a sense. Her parents never stayed in one place for long and she was raised on the road, literally. Bit's parents, Alan and Caroline, decided even before Bit and Damian's birth to train both their kids to become hunters and that wasn't open to discussion. Damian fell into the hunter role easily from early age while Bit always felt out of her element.
Bit never showed any talent for the family business. The first time she accompanied her parents into a hunt she threw up the entire dinner and cried like a little baby. It was clear she was not made for that life but Alan and Caroline insisted. They knew Bit would never be a hunter like them but they wanted to teach her how to defend herself. They knew it was important. Awkward at first, Bit almost got a hang of self-defense and weapons handling but she never used any of these skills and with time they became more like long lost memories than actually useful skills.
Bit's salvation came in the help of her uncle, Bernard Cassidy; her mother's brother, Bernard had been a hunter himself but after a werewolf almost killed him and left him in a wheelchair for the rest of his life Bernard found a second 'career option. Bernard started handling the research, following the money - many vampire families held important position with the community - and worked on papers and credit cards for their group of hunters. Bit knew a few things about computers but never had really worked much with them until Bernard took her under his wing and showed her she could still be part of the family business without getting involved in the physical fight.
Working on computers came was natural to Bit as breathing was to most people. What she didn't know she learned quickly, and her mind was always seeking something else to read about and figure out. Bit seemed to have found something she loved doing that could play an important role in her family's fight and she was relieved. She fitted in...in a geeky way.
As Bit grew old, her talents matured and she felt the need to expand her knowledge. She needed to know more and do more, and Bernard taught her mechanics and electronics. Bit began to work on gadgets that could help the family. Traps, bugs and special bullets to use on werewolves or modified guns. She can't fire a weapon but she knows how to the guns work.
After working with her family and the hunters of their group for most of her young life Bit had her independence day of sorts. A group of hunters from England needed someone to work with them for a while as they closed in on a vampire owned company. Bernard couldn't go and Bit volunteered. It wouldn't be the first time she did a job without her family but she had never been to another country without them before. With Alan and Caroline's blessings Bit packed her things and moved to the United Kingdom. She joined Charlie Macintosh's team short after.
Bit who never attended a regular high school had to fake some papers in order to be accepted into the University of Reading. Everything is digital these days and it wasn't that hard to make her look like she had been studying her entire life to be there.
Physical Appearance
Bit usually calls attention to herself and it's not because of long legs and sharping eyes but over her unique appearance and self-assurance. Bit has short dyed almost white hair with black roots and chopped in uneven layers, and honey brown eyes. Bit is small, standing at 5'3" but she has some meat around her bones. She is not overweight but Bit won't be winning any Miss America contests anytime soon. She is curvy and she is happy with herself.
She has an expressive face, with soulful eyes and a warm smile. Freckled face, pale skin and dimples complete her overall looks. Although, she knows she isn't ugly or anything Bit is aware of the fact that she's not the type of girl guys usually like but she's comfortable under her geek and atypical skin though. Bit is okay by just watching and desiring from afar (denial is great).
Bit has a distinctive taste for clothes. She doesn't follow any trends or buy famous brands but favors clothes she is comfortable in and matches her style. Her wardrobe is a varied set of jeans, tops, shirts, mini-skirts, boots and dresses that come in different colors and cuts. As for makeup, she is a fan of eyeliners but aside from that she is not much of makeup. She'll put a light lipstick on if she's in the mood for it.
Bit has pierced nose, tongue and ears, and a couple tattoos. The date of her parents wedding in binary is tattooed on her left shoulder blade, a tribal around her right ankle and two small hearts and one start on her left wrist.
Personality
Bits comes off as loud and blunt, and she makes no excuses to herself and her behavior. She'll flat out tell a person what she thinks about them or a subject and won't apologize for it. Unless, you are Charlie or her parents and the subject is vampires, shapeshifters and witches...then things are different. Bit's devoted to Charlie, her family and their mission. She is loyal almost to a fault and her alliance lies with the hunters even if she struggles between their views and some of her personal beliefs.
She was raised to hunt supernatural beings but she didn't turn out the way her parents hoped. She feels sympathy towards some of the 'creatures'. Bit knows some of them are bad and deserve to be hunted but Bit thinks there are others that are just trying to survive and she'd like to see everybody getting along, sharing the world and living in peace. A honorable thought for sure but Bit wouldn't say that out loud...not even to those close to her so she remains trapped in this place, torn between the people she cares about and her personal views.
When she is not worrying about her private thoughts and the fact she disappointed her folks, Bit is an out-going, playful and warm young woman. She carries herself with resolution and has a good sense of humor. Bit gets cocky and a little full of herself when her job is concerned. She's territorial and won't admit interference of others in her work. Bit doesn't like people touching her equipment either unless she says so. Her computers are off limits, they are sacred ground.
Around Charlie and his hunters, Bit seems out of place and that is somewhat true. She is aware of her role within the group, she knows how to do her job and she does it very well but Bit's not a real hunter. She won't got out there hunting and fighting. It's not in her to actually carry a weapon and hunt vampires, shapeshifters and witches. Bit works on the background, away from the 'spotlight' in a sense.
Talents & Weaknesses
Unlike most hunters, Bit doesn't have any combat skills. She can run but that's pretty much it. She was taught how to handle a weapon by her parents but she never made use of this skill so she is very rusty in this area. She has all the weakness a normal human would have plus her sympathy towards supernatural creatures makes her an easy mark.
Bit's main asset is her brains, her intelligence. She is a hacker with a natural talent for technologies in general. She can program in several computer languages and she's pretty handy when it comes to fix things, electronic devices and such but she's not a fighter. She could probably throw a punch or kick someone between their legs but her abilities are not really physical.
Bit is the one who will come up with gadgets for Charlie and his team to use as well as any background information on possible targets, cover background and IDs for the hunters. She can create new identities, credit cards, assess people's bank accounts and so on.
