Background

Growing up, Aine was always helping others. When she was not volunteering, she was either babysitting or studying. She was a good girl, always doing what she was told and following all the rules. Her fellow classmates often called her a goody-two-shoes or a kiss up, and there were times when her siblings picked up the nicknames as well. But being a shapeshifter, she had to learn early how to hold back her sadness because it was tears that caused her to uncontrollably change.

To calm herself, Aine turned to music as her aid. She picked up the violin early, loved it and quickly showed amazing talent. Her natural ability to recognize notes revealed a blossoming musical genius. Despite her talents, she never competed but simply played for the enjoyment of others. It was not only one of her greatest joys, but also rapidly became her quickest method of calming herself when sadness overtook her. Music was her escape..

In Aine’s teen years, she often encountered others who would insult her overly happy attitude. It was when they saw that they could use her when things got incredibly worse. College proved to be the most devastating years as she was used for her money, her help and her intelligence repeatedly. Every time her trust or kindness was severely betryed, she would spiral into a world of sadness where she would hide and lose herself in her music, filling the O'Connor home with the sweet hum of her violin. But soon after a few days of shutting everyone out, Aine would recover, only soon to be taken advantage of again. It became a regular routine, and every time Aine disappeared to play her violin, her family knew it had happened again.

It was from these experiences that Aine learned to keep herself from crying. Though she never exhibited signs of a dominant, Aine’s passive nature and generally happy self taught her how to prevent mistakenly shapeshifting. If it meant being overly happy or optimistic, Aine would do so to avoid changing in public or hurting unsuspecting humans.

Unlike her siblings, Aine’s position in the clan overwhelmingly fit her. A natural submissive, she obliged to others’ requests with ease. She was one of the few, if not the only one, who showed no signs of bitterness when her family had fallen from grace. Sadness and anger loomed over the O'Connor family when they lost power, so she sought out to do whatever she could to bring back their happiness. In her eyes, at least they were still part of the clan; things could have turned out much worse.

After college, she went to a specialized music university to receive a Bachelor’s degree in music. When she graduated at 21, she was offered a position to play with the British Symphony Orchestra. Her parents trusted her abilities to avoid shapeshifting despite being a submissive, so they allowed her to join the symphony. She spent three years performing with them.

Now at 24 and taking a break, she is back in Reading and attending the university to get her Master’s in music.

Physical Appearance

Aine is slender with a small waste and prominent curves. Weighing about 130, she stands just above 5’ 6”. Her face is round with high cheekbones and smoky blue eyes. Her skin is always fair, unable to ever get a tan without burning. Unlike Paige and Randall, her hair is a vibrant red rather than blonde. Her naturally curly hair usually hangs freely just over her shoulders.

She usually has a dressy, casual look and enjoys following what’s in season. She loves hats and is always embellishing herself in light, bright colors. She often wears bracelets and necklaces to make up for the inability to have piercings.

Aine’s wolf form is relatively small for a shapeshifter’s, bearing small paws and a long tail; however, this handicap allows her to be light on her paws and quick. Russet-brown colored fur dominates her body, accented by both black and white. Her narrow snout is splashed in array of white and gold, and her paws and underbelly match in color.

Personality

Aine has enough love in her for everyone who will accept it, ranging from friends and family, to miscellaneous people and even small creatures. Optimism and happiness seem to almost radiate from her body. She loves to play and joke, easily warming up to anyone who will let her. Aine’s greatest trait is her selflessness. Always out to please others, despite the cost, it is her unnamed goal in life. Exceptionally generous and helpful, many often become suspicious that she has her own motives when there are never any but to be kind.

Talents & Weaknesses

Aine loves music and is an extremely gifted violinist, often writing her own songs. She played the violin regularly for the symphony she was in, but now teaches violin for income.

As mentioned before, Aine’s selflessness has caused her to be taken advantage of countless times. Though she has a strong voice when it comes to business, she can’t say no to any of her friends, family and especially clan. If it means another person will be happy, she will take the burden of whatever it is with silence. As long as it doesn’t endanger anyone or reveal the secret of shapeshifting, she will oblige.

Unlike many others, Aine’s strongest emotion is sadness rather than anger (since she is passive about just everything). This is the main reason that she seems to always be happy, whether that happiness is real or feigned. After having many shapeshifting spasms during her childhood and even some in her teen years, Aine has learned to master her emotions. Now at 24 with years of experience backing her, she has been able to keep herself from being overtaken unexpectedly since going away to university, though she has also not encountered any overwhelmingly traumatic experiences since. Even though she is able to control shifting suddenly, the act of changing is still extremely uncomfortable.

Not quite as strong as other shapeshifters, but still stronger than humans, Aine's lack of strength is made up in speed and stamina.
