My Boyfriend

I met my boyfriend Chris in World of Warcraft in August 2007. I'd had a long break from the game, and I had no plans to return until I was chatting to some people at my cousin's wedding about the game. That conversation refuelled my love for the game and so the next day I was reinstalling it. I had only been back less than a week when I was invited to go to a fun run by an old guildmate to Molten Core. I went along and met some of their new members, including Chris. The day after he whispered me, which made me smile as he had bothered to track me down to talk to me. I later found out it was because I seemed interesting.

So we started talking, and got on really well. I really enjoyed talking to him and eventually we exchanged phone numbers. It wasn't long before we realised that the friendship was growing into something more even though he lived in Scotland and I was in London. I had had online relationships when I was younger, I've never been against them as I have always found it so much easier to relate to people online. I was nervous about meeting him, but in October 2007 for my 22nd birthday he came to visit for the first time.

Everything went really well, we hit it off and all my anxieties were unfounded - even with me being ill when we were supposed to go to Chessington World of Adventures. It helped that when I met him at the airport he gave me a little ginger cuddly toy, a very thoughtful and loving gesture which sums up what he is like as a person.

He came to visit again in December, and then for Christmas I took the plunge so to speak and met his mum and gran, and then some of his extended family. For New Years he returned with me to London, and spent most of it looking after me. Before meeting Chris I had just come out of a three year relationship which had left me a little bit worse for wear, and it was important to me that my next partner understood my health problems. Instead of going out for New Year's Eve we celebrated it with me wrapped up in a duvet with breathing problems. He didn't bat an eyelid, and looked after me all through it.

In January 2008 he moved down from London to live with me, and in May 2008 we moved out of my parents house and into the flat we now call home. In June 2008 we added our cat Azreil (Az) to our family.

We have had our ups and downs like all couples, but I have never been happier. We fit together so well, and are compatible in so many ways. We have the same taste in TV shows, music, movies, and games. We have picked up phrases and sayings from each other, and as cliche as it sounds we are usually thinking the same thing. I have experienced so much of life with him in the past 1 and a 1/2 years, and I am looking forward to experiencing even more with him. Another important thing for me is how well we fit into each others lives and families; we both have no siblings and have been adopted my each others family. My mum loves him, and I get on really well with Chris' mum. All in all I am a very lucky girl, and I am so glad that I took the chance to give this relationship a go.
